When exactly your $5 arrives
When your colleague pays for their first subscription, not when they register. It lands on your bonus balance within a week of that payment and stays valid for 210 days. Their $3 is immediate: it arrives the moment they sign up through your link and lasts 60 days.
Whether you can take the money out
No, it comes off your own subscription instead. Your colleague's $3 goes towards their first payment and your $5 towards your next one. Three colleagues who subscribe come to roughly a free Solo Pro month. It is meant to pay for your subscription, not to be a second income.
How many colleagues you can invite
As many as you like, and the credit stacks. Each colleague who subscribes adds $5 to your balance, and the balance keeps applying renewal after renewal. What doesn't stack is per person: one bonus per colleague, on their first paid subscription.
Whether it counts if they already had an account
No. The bonus is for a colleague who is new to Class Spot and registers through your link, which is what triggers both the $3 and the $5. If they signed up earlier on their own, there is nothing for the link to attribute. So send it before they register.
Why the program is for colleagues, not students
Because the reward is a discount on a teaching subscription, which isn't much use to a student or a parent. It is built for teacher-to-teacher recommendations. Invite the people who will actually open the platform and teach in it.
Where to find your link
Behind the bonus balance in the app header, once you are signed in. The same place shows your current credit and which colleagues have registered through you, so you can see what has landed and what is still pending.
How the credit gets spent
Automatically, off your next invoice. It comes off the total the moment an invoice is issued, including on automatic renewals, and there is currently no switch to hold it back. Two limits are worth knowing: credit never covers an invoice in full, because our payment provider always charges a minimum of $1.00, and it isn’t applied while you’re on a trial. It waits for your first invoice after that.
What happens if a subscription is refunded
Your $5 sits on hold for seven days precisely so a refund can be absorbed. If your colleague’s first payment comes back inside that week, the bonus never lands. After the week it’s yours. Their own $3 is never taken back. One thing to watch: if you pay an invoice partly with credit and that invoice is later refunded, the money returns but the credit does not.
